During the winter of 2006 a young lady, Kaila Dively, visiting South Africa from Brighton, Colorado USA, had a dream in her heart. This was a great dream for the homesteads of Leseding Mabatlane Limpopo South Africa.

She saw houses with vegetables towers near the kitchen door.
Cabbages, spinach, kale, tomatoes, onions. Beautiful fresh vegetables to stustain and nourish the elderly, the students and the toddlers. Fresh vegetables are usually an unobtainable luxury for homes with minimal water supplies.

Kaila and her father Michael shared her dream with Harry and Peggy Parham. Thanks to a wonderful sponsor there were close to 100 towers in Leseding this Spring of 2007.  Now in 2008 the towers are uncountable across the world.

Vegetable towers require as little as several litres of grey water (water that has been used for bathing or washing clothes or dishes) each day.
This means that despite the water restrictions in most areas, a vegetable tower can be maintained by those families who struggle to have access to fresh water.

As we continue to seek support, the dream Kaila has becomes a reality one garden at at time. It only took one person to start this dream. If you would like to join this dream please click the "Help Us" button at the right to see how you can also make a difference in feeding a family of 8 to 10 people off one garden.

Thank you.
